Big Black Bugs Bleed Blue Black Blood

Creepy; slimy; ferocious; sinister; frightening; eerie; scary; disturbing; spine chilling; uncanny; weird; ugly; mysterious; skillful; hair-raising; slippery; alarming; deadly; wild; vicious; nasty; gangly; clever; menacing; odd; poisonous; stinging; protective; adaptive; revolting; …etc…etc…etc

So many words can be used to describe insects. Most of the words used would be rather unpleasant (the only two that would not fall into this category that I can think of are butterflies and Fireflies). Bugs have always been a disturbing thing to me. Yes that’s right the pea soup spewing possessed girl Regan is actually quite squeamish about creepy crawlers. There have been some horror movies made about them and their furious grossness and feed on the fact that more people than not, have Entomophobia – fear of insects.

I especially do not like earwigs….I mean just ew. They should make a movie about giant earwigs that suck people brains out from their ears; I mean why haven’t they made a movie like this yet? Who knows…un-possessed people are pretty dull except for when they are gawking at me while I perform my disgusting tricks….anyway back to the subject at hand….

Another bug that I loath are slugs. They just really give me the creeps big time, even though I know they are harmless to anything other than a garden.

One of my favorite more recent movies about bugs of the sluggish nature and stuff is Slither (2006) of which screenwriter James Gunn (Dawn of the Dead (2004) remake) did an awesome job and it’s high on the scale of slimy grossness and freakishness in my book; oh yeah and it’s pretty hilarious all at the same time because the characters behave pretty over the top senseless. There are slugs from outer space and they dive down the gullets of their victims, turning them into people who develop a hideous appetite for raw meat...and a lot of it!!!  Gulp...ugh

This lady ate too much of her meat...

...and she pissed as hell about it...watch out!  Anyone got a spare napkin for her?

The slugs ‘slither’ their way into bathtubs,

under doors, down peoples throats…etc. Once they've occupied someone, they instantly lose momentum and coordination and turn into a something resembling freaks turned into zombie like creatures. This movie is truly luscious.

ummmmm this is rather obscene - don't ya think? And the lucky dude has two...or rather three if the one in his pants is still there.

Hey good lookin' watcha got cookin'?  Not meat, because he likes it RAW!

Some other movies based on creepy crawly things (some I have seen, some I have not):

Them (1954)
I watched this one a very long time ago…I was probably like 10. It’s a classic.

Eight-Legged Freaks (2002)
I actually have never seen this but I have it on my list…

Starship Troopers (1997)
This one is more of a Sci-Fi movie with giant morphed evil buggies that suck peoples brains out to gain their knowledge. I appreciated this immensely.

Arachnophobia (1990)
Seen this and loved it. One of my favorite quotes “Respect is fine, but actually I've always wanted to be feared.” Ooooh yeah.

The Fly (1986)
This is a lovely movie..ha. That is Jeff Goldblum

can you see him in there? I certainly can...
Bug (2007)
This one does not have to do with bugs killing people, but its still frightening. It’s two drug addicts who do crack and start to think their apartment is infested with little bugs, and they go crazy thinking that the government planted the bugs there. You can never actually see the bugs, but the two addicts start digging into their skin to try and get them out.

Signed,
Filthy Regan
